Earlier this year, Congress passed a bill that reformed parts of the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). In this comprehensive, two-hour session, we will review CPSIA requirements, analyze the CPSIA amendments in H.R. 2715, discuss proposed CPSC rules regarding component testing and testing of representative samples; review the lifting of the stay of enforcement, and the use of civil penalties by CPSC.

Ms. Diane L. Weinberg, is a partner in the firm, Meeks, Sheppard, Leo & Pillsbury. After law school, Ms. Weinberg as an attorney at Customs Headquarters, in Washington, DC, where she helped draft the 1984 rules of origin for textile and apparel products. Ms. Weinberg has developed import compliance programs for U.S. Importers, and has drafted manuals and other written procedures to ensure adherence to Customs requirements.
